The union is asking for clarity on the death of stationmaster Salvatore Brancaccio, a 42-year-old from Torre del Greco, who was hit last night by a maintenance company van at the Circumvesuviana station in via Botteghelle in Naples.

“The accident that occurred at the railway station Eav Botteghelle, where a young stationmaster died and a fellow cleaner was seriously injured, causes us deep sadness and great concern". This is what Alfonso Langella, general secretary of Fit Cisl Campania, said. "We hope that what happened will be clarified as soon as possible and we join in the grief of the families of the workers who were victims of yet another tragedy in the workplace. Safety remains a priority to be guaranteed, greater commitment is needed from all those who have expertise in the matter".

Salvatore Brancaccio, an employee of the company that manages regional public transport, would have turned 42 in a few years and died instantly. The other underwent a delicate surgical operation at the Ospedale del Mare and his conditions are still serious.
