Legambiente launches the 'distance learning strike'. The NGO participates in the Fridays For Future initiative

Legambiente joins the Fridays For Future Global Climate Strike, and mobilizes from the north to the south of the Peninsula together with the young people of Greta Thunberg's movement. Digital initiatives are planned such as #UnmuteClimateChange - the first strike done entirely in Dad.

Territorial presidia

Also scheduled are territorial sit-ins in Rome, Milan, Turin, Naples, Palermo, Udine, Brescia, Bagheria, Pisa (where artistic performances will be organized in front of the town hall), Florence (where the Clean Cities campaign will stop), Ancona (where students will hang banners with the slogan “ChangeClimateChange – Eni Enemy of the Planet). In Basilicata, the Youth Climate Meeting will be held, an online meeting that will see young activists from all over the region discuss the theme of decarbonization and volunteering and which will see the participation of the president of Legambiente Stefano Ciafani.

Legambiente today invited students in distance learning to participate in #UnmuteClimateChange – the first strike done entirely in Dad. All you had to do was change your name to “UnmuteClimateChange”, remain mute for the entire lesson, take a photo of the screen and then share it on Instagram and Facebook tagging Legambiente and your association, with the hashtags #NoMoreEmptyPromises #UnmuteClimateChange: “a symbolic gesture to denounce the immobility of the institutions, but also to promote moments of discussion and participation by students and teachers on the topic of the climate emergency”. On this day of mobilization for the climate, Legambiente once again asks the Government for “a more ambitious National Recovery and Resilience Plan and a more ambitious National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, in line with the global objectives of the Paris Agreement and with the European objectives of reducing climate-altering emissions”.
