Bad weather in Campania, snow from Vesuvius to the southern area. Snowplough in Vallo di Diano and disruption on Bussentina

On the eve of spring, cold and snow on Vesuvius as in the areas south of Salerno.

The volcano is again covered in snow as it had already happened in the middle of the week, due to a disturbance that is affecting the area. The Vesuvian towns have woken up under a gray and cloudy sky and with a sharp drop in temperatures, a situation that - as reported by the forecasts - should last for the entire weekend.

Snow south of Salerno

Heavy snowfall has also hit the territories south of Salerno. Snowfall was recorded especially in the Tanagro and Vallo di Diano.

The municipalities where the greatest difficulties are recorded are Buccino, Caggiano, Montesano sulla Marcellana, Monte San Giacomo, Sala Consilina, Sanza and Teggiano. Since the early hours of the morning, snowploughs and salt spreaders have been in action to ensure traffic flow on the main arteries, while the mountain and farm roads in several municipalities are impassable. Difficulties for vehicle circulation are also recorded on the Bussentina, a fast-flowing road that connects the Vallo di Diano and the Gulf of Policastro.
