Marano, Carabinieri sweep checks: 134 people identified and 114 vehicles checked. 35 fines for failure to comply with the highway code with 6 cars seized.

I Carabinieri of the Marano di Napoli company – as part of the services arranged by the provincial command of Naples – reported 4 people for theft of electricity. The military of the force, together with Enel inspection personnel, inspected various electrical “connections” in the city of Marano.

3 private homes were identified where the owners had tampered with the meter. In another, the tenant had connected directly to the public network. The people were reported and the damage will be quantified in the coming days.

During the checks, the Carabinieri also arrested a 45-year-old woman from Mugnano, in execution of a provision issued by the court of Naples North. She will have to serve a sentence of two years and 10 months in house arrest for two robberies committed in Naples and Villaricca in 2016 and 2019.

A 46-year-old from Melito di Napoli was reported for driving without a license he never obtained and a repeat offender in the two-year period.

There was no shortage of checks on compliance with anti-contagion regulations. The Carabinieri fined 17 people caught without the required mask or walking around without one of the justified reasons provided for by the anti-COVID-19 regulations.

In addition, 2 individuals were reported to the Prefecture of Naples, checked in possession of two doses of crack. The services will continue in the coming days.
