This is the result of the "high impact" service carried out by the Carabinieri of the Marano di Napoli Company, supported by soldiers of the CIO Napoli, as part of the initiatives taken by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Naples, aimed at combating widespread illegality with particular reference to the prevention of predatory crimes.
The operation took place yesterday afternoon and evening along the main roads of the municipalities of Marano, Melito, Mugnano and Villaricca.
The military arrested for mistreatment in the family and resisting arrest a 54-year-old man from Villaricca, with a police record, who had attacked his 77-year-old mother for trivial reasons. Two foreign tobacco smugglers were reported in Melito di Napoli, caught while they were selling on the street approximately 4,5 kg of cigarettes (218 packets) without the state monopoly tag, with a black market value of approximately €550,00.
Finally, 2 drug users were reported to the Prefecture of Naples, found in possession of a total of 3,5 grams of hashish.
18 fines were then contested for violation of the anti-covid rules to individuals caught without justifiable reason outside their home. Three young people were even caught while they were playing cards on a low wall in a square in the center of Marano.
