Luxanime, the new project by Marina Bruno, Ondanueve String Quartet and Michele Maione.
Acoustic and electronic sounds, expansive vocals, popular rhythmic influences, sacred and profane texts, meditative atmospheres, forays into ethnic and baroque music, up to contemporary pop.
Music that comes from distant worlds, styles, eras, cultures.
There is no shortage of creative factors in the genesis of this musical journey, the result of a long-sought encounter by all the protagonists, who have already had the opportunity to collaborate and get to know each other over the years. We are talking about Marina Bruno, protagonist of “La gatta Cenerentola” by Roberto De Simone, with an eclectic vocal personality and a very solid career, the string quartet “Ondanueve String Quartet”, a highly experienced group with illustrious collaborations (Ferzan Özpetek and Paolo Sorrentino, to name a couple), and Michele Maione, a percussionist open to electronics and contamination, now a certainty in the Italian musical panorama.
“Luxanimae” tries to illuminate perhaps the most difficult moment of the last decades for a large part of humanity, and is the result of doubts, reflections, uncertainties, aspirations aimed at creating a line of communication with something “superior”, a sort of entity that can illuminate souls by indicating the path to a return to individual and global serenity.
The first tangible sign is a hypnotic version of Marco Frisina's “Magnificat”, a video clip of which was shot in the extraordinary setting of the Cimitero delle Fontanelle, in Naples, thanks to the kind availability of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples.
Two young and talented Irpinia people then donated light through their precious contribution: Cristian Guarino, stylist, created for Marina Bruno in his atelier in Mirabella Eclano an ad hoc dress, bright, enchanting, while respecting the places, of sober and solemn style and refined elegance. Angela Cava, makeup artist of Aiello del Sabato, illuminated Bruno's face in a natural way, enhancing her features and releasing the energy that distinguishes each of her makeups.
The short film will be released on Easter Sunday 2021, on the main social platforms.
