Naples. Hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a shotgun. Carabinieri seized in Via Marco Aurelio.
The Carabinieri of the Naples mobile radio unit, during a check in Via Marco Aurelio, found and seized over 400 rounds of ammunition and a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun stolen from the area.
Part of the ammunition was hidden in a suitcase, under a small wooden shed on the road, the rest in a basement at number 236.
The list is extensive: 34 rounds of 44 cal. ammunition, 66 rounds of 38 cal. ammunition, 108 rounds of 380 cal. ammunition, 56 rounds of 7,62 cal. ammunition, 112 rounds of 357 cal. ammunition, 11 rounds of 7,65 cal. ammunition, 26 rounds of 30 luger cal. ammunition, 8 rounds of 9 mm cal. ammunition and 23 rounds of 12 cal. ammunition.
The rifle, however, was found in a gas meter compartment. It is a Franchi mod. LAW12 cal. 12, loaded and in perfect working order, found to have been stolen in 2003 in San Giuseppe Vesuviano. And also 2 500 gram packages of gunpowder and material for cutting drugs. The weapon will be subjected to ballistic tests to verify whether it was used for bloody crimes or intimidation.
