Naples, Capodimonte gardens cleaned by volunteers
On Saturday morning the volunteers of The Way to Happiness and the volunteer Adrian from Capua, met at the Stairs of Princess Jolanda at the Tondo di Capodimonte, to continue with the reclamation of green areas.
For weeks, volunteers have been carrying out the waste collection initiative at the historic Neapolitan cultural site: last week they collected 2 tons of rubbish and on Saturday morning they collected another 30 bags, including half a moped frame.
Pascal Lemos, coordinator of the initiative, launches an appeal to all citizens: “Anyone who wants to get involved, get their hands a little dirty and give us a hand, is welcome. Otherwise, with the human resources and the arms we have now, it will take another month to be able to bring the Tondo di Capodimonte back to an acceptable scene. While with a few more volunteers we could maximize everything in a couple of weekends. We usually dedicate a couple of hours on Saturday morning. Depending on the weather conditions, we could take care of it on Sunday morning. However, the help offered would be greatly appreciated. So anyone who wants to participate in some way, do not hesitate to contact us.”
Volunteers are inspired by the common-sense guide The Way to Happiness, written by humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, who says, “There are many things people can do to help care for the planet. It starts with personal effort. It goes on to suggest that others do the same.”
The Way to Happiness is the first moral code based entirely on common sense. First published in 1981, its purpose is to arrest the moral decline in society and restore integrity and faith in Man. Written by L. Ron Hubbard, it fills the moral void in an increasingly materialistic society, with 21 fundamental precepts that guide a person to a better standard of living.
