A writing of about 1,5 square meters, depicting the identifying symbol of the De Martino clan "XX", coined by Antonio De Martino, a prominent member of the clan of the same name, which was located in via Eugenio Montale, in the neighborhood Ponticelli of Naples, was removed today by the Neapolitan municipal administration, with the assistance, inter-force, of several patrols of the police forces. This was announced by the Prefecture.
Furthermore, not far from that writing, another one was obscured, which commemorated Giulio Fiorentino, also believed to be linked to the Camorra, who died in an ambush in Ponticelli, on the night between March 13th and 14th.
The intervention – explains the press release from the Prefecture – is part of the program of interventions launched at the conclusion of a specific technical table, in compliance with the results of the Committee for public order and safety of the metropolitan area of March 4th.
The removal of the so-called murals of crime will continue in the coming days and weeks, the note concludes, with the aim of restoring respect for the law with the progressive removal of artefacts or other symbols that are illegally present on public roads, without prejudice to the possible existence of specific crimes.
