Naples: another illegal “altar” removed in the Spanish Quarter area.
This morning in Naples the municipal administration, assisted by the police, proceeded with the removal of an illegal structure located in via Croci in Santa Lucia al Monte, in the Montecalvario neighborhood, built on public land in an area of archaeological interest that commemorates Domenico Russo, clan leader of the criminal organization of the same name, killed on January 7, 1999.

The intervention program, launched following an operation agreed upon in a specific technical table, in compliance with the results of the Committee for Public Order and Safety of the metropolitan area of March 4, will continue in the coming days and weeks, the Prefecture, with the aim of restoring respect for the law with the progressive removal of artefacts or other symbols that illegally stand on public roads, without prejudice to the possible existence of specific crimes.
