The work of removing murals and shrines dedicated to criminal figures continues.

This morning, theMunicipal administration, assisted by the police, has removed two illegal artefacts: a marble plaque made on a municipal wall in via del Marzano, in Posillipo, dedicated to Giuseppe Grieco, a criminal killed in a firefight with the police, and a 'small altar' installed in Piazzetta Salvatore Trinchese, an area of ​​archaeological interest, in the Pendino district, dedicated to the criminal Raffaele Ivone.

The program of interventions, launched following an operation agreed upon by a special technical table, in compliance with the results of the Committee for Public Order and Safety of the Metropolitan Area of ​​March 4, will continue in the coming days and weeks, with the aim of restoring - the prefecture explains - respect for the law with the progressive removal of artifacts or other symbols that illegally insist on the public road, without prejudice to the possible existence of specific crimes.
