A bouquet of flowers, a pair of red shoes, but above all once again the invitation to all women to report or contact associations to activate social protection for them.
THE MESSAGE OF THE STRONG WARRIORS
This is the message sent today by the association Strong Warriors who together with the president of the III Municipality, Ivo Poggiani, and the parish priest Don Enzo Marzocchi went to the house of Ornella Pinto, the woman massacred with 12 stab wounds by her ex-partner, Pinotto Iacomino, two days ago in Naples. "It was an initiative born instinctively - explains Poggiani - with some of the 'Forti Guerriere' to avoid creating crowds, and the parish priest. A few citizens when they saw us joined us.

Last week we commemorated Fortuna and now we are here again, knowing that a few demonstrations will not be enough to avoid these episodes but that it is important to remind women that they are not alone. If they are afraid to go to the police because perhaps they do not want their family to know or they fear revenge from the man, there are associations, parish priests, anti-violence centers that start an initial protection. The 'strong warriors' have reiterated that no one saves themselves alone, but they are here, as are the police".
VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ON THE RISE
In Sanita' District Last Sunday, Fortuna Belisario was remembered, a woman killed in 2019 by her husband who was sent to house arrest after two years of detention. The new murder confirms the data that show an increase in domestic violence against women during long periods of forced confinement at home: "The data speaks clearly - explains Poggiani - but we have confirmation of it day by day by talking to women, with parish priests, it is a very strong theme".
Don Enzo Marzocchi invites women to report
"Today is the Sunday of Nicodemus, who goes to Jesus at night to seek the light. This is what women must do, report, seek the light." This is how Don Enzo Marzocchi, a priest from the Sanita' neighborhood, explains the message launched this morning together with the women of the Forti Guerriere association in memory of Ornella, the 40-year-old Neapolitan woman killed two days ago with 12 stab wounds by her ex-partner.
'it seems impossible to me that these things still happen'
"Every time - explains the parish priest - it seems impossible to me that these things still happen and only by reporting them do we get out of it. We all have the duty to collaborate and support those who are victims of this chauvinist culture. I see mothers at catechism, mothers in school meetings. Maybe fathers, even the good ones who respect their partners, should feel more involved, this would help change certain deviations in our culture".

Don Mazzocchi also says that in conversations, in confessions, women increasingly talk about the violence they suffer: "We have a clear feeling of it - he says - from private conversations. We Neapolitans are tolerant but with the pandemic we are more stressed and certainly this affects the lives of all of us in different ways. I try to guide them, to bring them closer to local services, to have them accompanied by associations, to go to the police.
In the parish we also have meetings on parenting to talk, to open up. I also talk to men who are sometimes exasperated, victims of society who then vent their frustrations with violence. There are fathers who find themselves deprived of their home, of their children, they must have requirements to see their children and some cannot because they live in cars. They must understand the serious mistake that violence means and we must all work on the family that is in crisis, is undermined in its foundations, in its civil and religious values”.
