Roberto Van Heugten returns to the bookshop with a new adventure of Gianluca Vanetti, the detective in spite of himself
'Area riservata' (Homo Scrivens) is out today, March 25th, the fourth adventure of Gianluca Vanetti, the investigator from Valtènesi born from the pen of the writer Roberto Van Heugten.
With this book, no. 1/2021 of the 'I dieci' series, the reader takes a journey into the world of digital communities, those that, in the face of recent, drastic changes in habits, present themselves as new work, exchange and knowledge environments. All beautiful and shareable, except that in one of these virtual circles something happens that goes beyond the purpose for which the 'Nuovi panorami' community was created.
In the background, the pressure of criminal actions conducted by those who want to compromise the delicate balance of integration between real communities, taking advantage of the anonymity guaranteed by the virtual.
“I started thinking about the novel Reserved Area – declared the author Van Heugten – already the day after the publication of the previous Asia, shadows and intrigues in the Brescia that counts.
I had just finished telling the professional and investigative growth of the protagonist, Gianluca Vanetti, that I was already relishing the idea of giving him an intricate case in settings that were not comfortable and close to his habits. In fact, I made his house explode, and from then on the plot became a vortex of facts and misdeeds with an increasing thriller atmosphere.
The book compares new digital technologies with the traditions of a thousand-year-old civilization, it also addresses the theme of integration and rejection, creating a high-tension ensemble that leaves the reader very few moments of relaxation. However, I can say that I had a lot of fun while writing it; I hope to be able to transfer this feeling to those who will find themselves traveling with my words”.
"Roberto Van Heugten - said the publisher Aldo Putignano - is one of those authors whose bright future is not difficult to foresee. Born in the undergrowth of Italian noir, which even the big publishing houses have begun to draw on with increasing frequency in recent years, awarded and mentioned several times in competitions and genre events, he has over time refined the tools of the trade and developed a writing style that creates great empathy with the reader. He also has the merit of being accompanied by a pleasant and unconventional character, Gianluca Vanetti, a detective 'in spite of himself', who makes listening his main tool of investigation".
A fast-paced, gripping novel full of twists and turns, supported by a writing style that leaves no respite, available in all independent bookstores, on Bookdealer and in physical and online stores.

Synopsis
September afternoon, a roar shakes the peaceful coffee break in Calvagese, near Lake Garda. The satisfaction for the success of the annual antique auction of the Vanetti house is obscured by smoke and debris, so the famous House on the meteorite, bent but not defeated, becomes once again the backdrop on which mysterious plots and new intrigues take shape.
What's so important in his basement? Why would a crazy but no less determined customer do anything to get his hands on the missing piece of a bomb of unknown origin?
What machinations are behind the increasingly frequent attacks on shops and restaurants in northern Italy run by foreigners?
To see clearly, Gianluca Vanetti, an unconventional biographer and investigator, decides to enter the elusive world of digital business communities and participate in the projects of Nuovi Panorami, managed by Asia Vangadizza, an old acquaintance of his. And to search for the truth, he will have to walk on rough terrain.
