Bulldozers in action at Baia Domizia, in the municipality of Cellole, where an illegal villa and a prefabricated building located in the Fontanavecchia and Stella areas, both used as summer residences, were demolished.
The buildings, subject to the demolition order of the Prosecutor's Office, were located in an area subject to restrictions and intended for agricultural use, in that strip of land that runs parallel to the coast, between the urban center of Baia Domizia and Domiziana. The first building was a villa of about 100 square meters. Furthermore, it was built in an area without sewer systems, with high health and hygiene risks, and in an area subject to restrictions.
The same violations were also contested for the second property which instead consisted of a 60 square meter container-type building, in a state of abandonment. The demolition order provides for the demolition of the building, the acquisition of the land on which it stood, the activation of procedures for the recovery of legal costs against the illegal builder.
The action, according to a note from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, falls "in the dutiful activity of demolishing illegal buildings, thus allowing the restoration of the integrity of the territory. To this end, with the aim of reaffirming the principles of legality and justice in a province where illegality has long been practiced and fueled, the Demolition Office has been reorganized and strengthened" also to transmit to the communities "the unequivocal signal that illegal building is being fought to the end and that, above all, it is not convenient".
Finally, the Prosecutor's Office reiterates that in identifying the illegal buildings to be demolished, priority criteria are used that take into account not only the chronological order but also the balance of the constitutionally relevant assets-interests at stake.
