It was clear to everyone that this Saremo 2021 was an unknown quantity... but what if it turned out to be the first Sanremo seen and followed on YouTube?

The global pandemic is rapidly changing things, people, and ways of life. Even Sanremo 2021 had to adapt, trying to compensate for the absence of an audience in the theater by avoiding shots of the empty theater except fleetingly (Fiorello's opening interlude).

THE CRITICISM AND THE CONTROVERSY
The next day, the first criticisms and the inevitable controversies began, and on top of that, we had to deal with a drop in ratings. And yet, this year, there's something new that's been going unnoticed in these hours: in fact, in addition to the traditional viewers, who have faithfully followed Sanremo on TV for years, last night there were many views from "young people," sought and desired in past years but never truly found; and instead, here they are, ready in the front row, not watching TV, but connected on social media and YouTube, linked to the many live channels of their favorite YouTubers who broadcast Sanremo 2021 live, obviously telling it in their own way.

SANREMO ON YOUTUBE
And it worked. There's no official viewer total for all these channels that broadcast Sanremo 2021 live, but there were many connections. And perhaps the drop in viewership after the first episode of Sanremo doesn't take into account all those who followed this Sanremo online, in the ways and ways of the Web.

MORE CONFIDENCE WITH THE WEB
The reason is simple, with the pandemic and the lockdowns we had to become more familiar with the Web and the network and this led to new ways of interacting including Sanremo. These live broadcasts on Youtube had as their main point, obviously, the music: and in fact the majority appreciated almost all the songs, some more than others.

VERY LIGHT MUSIC BY COLAPESCE AND DIMARTINO

In these hours there is also an accusation of plagiarism, already reported yesterday evening on Twitter, which concerns one of the songs in the competition, up to now, among the most beautiful: "Very light music" song by the duo Colapesce and Dimartino, accused of having sounds that recall respectively Son of a King by Cesare Cremonini (maybe a tribute??) and "We are the people" by Empire of the Sun".
Plagiarism or not, "Musica Leggerissima" has the sound of "the beautiful music of the past" and overall it's a really beautiful song.

We'll see what the second episode has in store for us tonight.
