Fan clashes in Fiorentina-Napoli in 2019: 10 convictions
Fourteen acquittals and ten convictions, by the Court of Florence, against 24 Azzurri fans arrested during episodes of violence that occurred on the sidelines of the Serie A match between Fiorentina and Napoli, in February 2019.
The convictions concern the passengers of a minivan on board which the police, during a search, found bombs and firecrackers. A search carried out following some "skirmishes" before entering the stadium. The 14 Neapolitan fans were acquitted (13 defended by the lawyer Emilio Coppola and one by the lawyer Giuseppe Milazzo) who, according to the reconstruction of the Prosecutor's Office, armed with sticks were heading towards the Fiesole curve to clash with the Viola supporters.
A contact prevented thanks to the intervention of the police. The 14 acquitted were all accused of possession of offensive material during sports events. The Prosecutor's Office had requested sentences ranging from 8 months to one year in prison. Two of the people convicted of possession of offensive material were also charged with violating a DASPO order to which they were subjected.
