“We are distant to be closer. For an Easter of brotherhood and solidarity” is the program of initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Baronissi and the Museo-FRaC on the occasion of Holy Week 2021.
An important signal, with an extraordinary billboard, all projected in streaming mode, visible on the digital channels of the Municipality and the Museum (www.comune.baronissi.sa.it and on the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FRaCBaronissi ) to bring us closer to Easter through art, exhibitions, anthropology, culture and music.
“We are approaching Easter and still, despite all the great sacrifices and efforts that have characterized a year, the pandemic disease forces us to stay away, to keep cultural facilities closed, those places where the community rediscovers the spirit that unites souls – underlines the mayor of Baronissi, Gianfranco Valiante – We have chosen, as a Municipality, to give more space to the initiatives planned and implemented by the Museo-FRaC for Holy Week. It is a strong signal that, while respecting ministerial and regional regulations, aims to keep our community together in the values of brotherhood and solidarity. My thanks and those of the Municipal Administration go to the artists, musicians, illustrious speakers who, with their availability, have made these initiatives possible. Culture is a strong glue, it has always held generations together. Happy Easter to everyone”.
"Even though the entrance portal to the Museo-FRaC is still closed, we have not given up on weaving the network of relationships that, online for a year, keeps us in touch and in dialogue with those who follow, through digital and social channels, our cultural promotion activity. With the friends of the "TuttiSuonati" Association and with those who collaborate in the museum's activities, we have planned some initiatives that will mark the Holy Week. It is a way to feel and feel close to you", highlights Massimo Bignardi, Director of the Museo-FRaC, Baronissi.
THE PROGRAM
Holy Thursday, April 1st at 18 pm on the Museo FRaC online channels, the inauguration of the exhibition GIANNI ZANNI, IN CŒNA DOMINI is scheduled, a photographic reworking of the menu of Christ's Last Supper, depicted by various artists in the past centuries and of which certainly the best known is Leonardo's Last Supper.
“The freedom I allowed myself – writes the artist – was to rediscover, and then transpose them into photographic images, the various declinations of the same form of food and an example for all is the image of the fish, an undisputed emblem of Christological symbolism, as well as a strong point of the finest pastry chefs of Salento in the version made of almond paste”.
Good Friday, April 2nd at 18 pm, the FRaC online Museum has organized the meeting dedicated to the PROCESSION OF THE CELESTINES, with images of the Easter rites of the island of Procida.
Professor Paolo Apolito will speak in dialogue with art critic Massimo Bignardi.
The meeting was conceived as part of the program of initiatives promoted by the Museo-FRaC and the Municipality of Baronissi, for Procida2022, Italian Capital of Culture.
“The Good Friday procession of Procida is a very ancient tradition, dating back to the end of the seventeenth century. In the procession, organized by the “Confraternita dei Turchini” (founded in 1629 by the Jesuits), the young males of the island, dressed in the classic “garment” of a “confraternity” (a white habit surmounted by a “mozzetta”, and a turquoise cloak), carry by their arms floats, plastic representations (called “mysteries”) of a religious nature along a route that winds through the historic center, from the oldest village of Terra Murata to the port of Marina Grande”.
Holy Tuesday, March 30th at 20.30pm, the Museum-FRaC, Baronissi online hosts the concert THE LAST SEVEN WORDS OF OUR REDEEMER IN THE CROSS, pieces from Franz Joseph Haydn's Oratorio performed by the String Quartet of the Camerata Strumentale of the University of Salerno. A cultural event, inspired by the Tutti Suonati Cultural Association to raise funds for the Projects of AVSI, an NGO that works primarily in the field of children's education.
The concert visible on digital channels, organized in collaboration with the Cappella Universitaria, the Avsi Foundation and with the support of the Diocesan Museum of Amalfi, consists of the performance of some pieces from the Oratorio Le ultime 7 parole del nostro Redentore in croce, by Franz Joseph Haydn performed by the String Quartet of the Camerata Strumentale of the University of Salerno, accompanied by the reading of some contextual texts, commented by readings on the theme "La misericordia che riedifica".
