Mayor of Caserta gets vaccinated along with the police without being entitled to do so
Arienzo – The mayor of Arienzo received his first dose of the vaccine despite not falling into any of the categories already included in the prophylaxis campaign, and he ended up under investigation.
Joseph Guide, also president of Agis Caserta, received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine at the hospital in Maddaloni at the same time as the municipal police of his town. The matter sparked a storm, but he defended himself by saying that he "sent an email to the ASL and was summoned 24 hours later".
A rather anomalous procedure the one described by the mayor since, as is known, the summons, only for the categories included in the plan, takes place via SMS and after registration on the Sinfonia platform. "They are only giving me publicity - insists Guida who defends himself - I did not make a mistake. I will speak to the prefect to explain my reasons, the rest is just talk".
Guida is among the first mayors of the Caserta who have received the vaccine, not counting, of course, those who work in the health sector, schools, universities and belong to the police force. The accusations come from both the minority and other political representatives of the municipalities of the Suessola Valley, according to whom the mayor would have taken someone's place, as the vaccination campaign for mayors has not yet started because the president of the Anci De Caro refused the proposal of the parliamentarians to start it before other higher-risk categories.
The minority has announced that they will sue him and see clearly. The group "Arienzo is yours", which does not sit on the City Council, dots the i's by emphasizing that "the mayor was vaccinated without having the right to do so". "The mayor - say the exponents of the very active movement in the area - has nominated himself on the regional platform for a vaccination campaign dedicated to the police force. Has he become a traffic policeman by chance? We believe, politically and humanely, it is very serious and of very low profile for a representative of the institutions, a mayor, to "take advantage" of his position to be vaccinated before the most at-risk categories, such as cancer patients, disabled people, and over 70s. Legally, however, we would expect an action by the minority that would involve the relevant bodies, but there is little to hope for from those who are even afraid to write to the Prefecture to assert their institutional reasons.
The man believed to be responsible for the robbery that occurred on the morning of January 20th at a gas station in Santa Maria a Vico, Caserta, has been identified and charged at large. He is a 44-year-old man from Arienzo, already known to law enforcement, and was identified following a swift and targeted investigation conducted by the Carabinieri of the local station.
According to investigators' reconstruction, the man allegedly burst into the service station disguised and armed with a scythe, threatening the employee on duty and forcing him to hand over the takings, amounting to approximately €300. This sudden and violent act caused considerable alarm in the community, particularly due to the use of a potentially lethal weapon.
Political upheaval has gripped the municipality of Arzano. This morning, Mayor Cinzia Aruta resigned from her position. A painful decision, made with a sense of responsibility and profound respect for the city and its institutions. In a post on her social media channels, the mayor of Arzano explained: "This morning I resigned…
At a crucial moment for Salerno, Vincenzo De Luca is making his voice heard again, with a tone that seems to anticipate an election campaign, drawing attention to issues of safety and urban decorum, while the outgoing mayor leaves a void to be filled. Without officially announcing a candidacy, his tone and content strongly resemble a campaign...
