The Carabinieri investigation into the bomb that exploded in Somma Vesuviana in the garden of a building contractor points to the local crime trail.
The homemade device did not cause any injuries, but slightly damaged the gate of the man's home, a 67-year-old. The explosion occurred yesterday evening. The businessman told the Carabinieri of the Castello Di Cisterna Company, who intervened to investigate the incident, that he had not received any threats or intimidations, nor any request for a bribe. The military, on the orders of the magistrates, are carrying out all the checks and in the meantime, initial protection has been arranged for the businessman.
Opposition councilor Celestino Allocca also spoke out about the episode, stressing that he and other city councilors had asked that Mayor Salvatore Di Sarno "report to the Council as soon as possible," in light of another act of intimidation that occurred last February 26 against a majority city councilor. On that occasion, the device, again homemade, was placed in front of the accounting office of a majority city councilor, but did not explode. "To the honest citizens of Somma Vesuviana," Allocca said, "who are the vast majority, I say not to lower your head, let's not give up and, above all, let's not remain silent. This is not the city of bombs."
