Wanted member of the D'Avino clan captured by the Carabinieri during checks in Somma Vesuviana.
This morning during the operations relating to the extraordinary service of the territory arranged by the Provincial Command Police of Naples – the soldiers of the Castello di Cisterna Company have searched various areas of the city.
Arrested – pursuant to a provision issued by the Court of Nola – Francesco Ioia, a 47-year-old local already known to the police. The man will have to serve a sentence of 8 years and 8 months in prison for the crimes of aiding and abetting, robbery, evasion, aggravated theft and drug dealing with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method. Ioia is considered a character close to the D'Avino clan gravitating in the city of Somma Vesuviana.

During the service, the Carabinieri identified 61 people and checked 57 vehicles. A 27-year-old local was also reported because he was found in possession of a switchblade. The services will continue without interruption in the coming days.
