The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, said this on Mezz'ora in più hosted by Lucia Annunziata on Rai3: "There is new evidence that shows that the AstraZeneca vaccine can also be used on all age groups. So we have received an opinion that goes in this direction from the CSS and as early as tomorrow or the day after tomorrow there will be a circular from the Ministry of Health that will go in this direction".
The next decisive quarter
“For the vaccine, the next quarter will be decisive. We have already had over 5 million vaccinated. My goal is to ensure that by the summer all Italians who want to be vaccinated will have had the shot.”

– “We believe that the next quarter will be the decisive one for vaccinations. From April 1st, the second quarter begins in which we expect the arrival of over 50 million doses, and we aim to reach at least half of the population. Among these doses there will also be the J&J vaccine which is single-dose. So at the end of the second quarter of the year we will find ourselves in a situation in which the majority will be vaccinated and by the summer I expect that all Italians who want it will be able to be vaccinated”. The minister: 'I foresee curved growth, other regions towards the red'
“What I expect is that the impact of the variant could increase the curve, so I expect other regions to go towards red with restrictive ordinances. We must adapt the measures to the trend of the epidemiological curve and we will evaluate the trend of the curve day by day.”
Hope: 'Open to Sputnik vaccine'
"I am open to the Russian Sputnik vaccine as long as the checks and controls by the relevant agencies are successful; when this happens for the Russian vaccine, we are ready to collaborate with the Russian authorities to strengthen production." The goal, Speranza said, "is to vaccinate as many people as possible; nationalistic barriers make no sense."
