Man Killed After Traffic Argument: Arrested

The State Police of Caserta arrested ARCIERI Carmelo, born in 1978, as he was subject to an Order of Execution for Imprisonment issued on 15.3.2021 by the Attorney General of the Republic at the Court of Appeal of Naples.

The man was convicted to serve a prison sentence of 21 years and 9 months, having been found guilty of the crime of aggravated homicide against Antonio Passero, aged 38, committed in March 2012.

In particular, on 20.3.2012, in Cellole al Corso Freda, near the restaurant “Il Gabbiano” some passers-by noticed Passero Antonio lying on the pavement with serious injuries to his head and legs; the man was immediately rescued and died in hospital a few hours later.

What at first glance might have seemed like a trivial road accident actually, following in-depth investigations, developed by the Casertana Flying Squad, assisted by the personnel of the Sessa Aurunca Police Station, took on a very different profile; in fact, the investigative activity, consisting in the acquisition and analysis of images from the video surveillance systems of commercial businesses in the area, allowed them to ascertain that Passero had been hit by a gray Alfa 156 SW car, which turned out to be in use by Arcieri. The car was found at the arrested man's home, partially dismantled, with the obvious aim of hiding the damage suffered following the accident that had occurred a few hours earlier.

Further investigations allowed to verify that already in the previous month of February 2012 the victim had been the victim of an attempted run-over by the suspect. The motive for the murder was attributable to a trivial argument between the two following which Arcieri, in order to take revenge, had carried out the criminal action.
Once the ritual procedures were completed, ARCIERI was taken to the S. Maria Capua Vetere prison.
