Portici. Loans at usurious rates: assets of a couple from Portici seized between Rome and Naples.
The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Naples has seized, between Rome and Ercolano, properties and financial assets worth over €500.000 from two spouses under investigation for usury. The precautionary measure was issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Naples following an investigation delegated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, resulting from a tax audit conducted by the financiers of the Portici Company.
In particular, the Guardia di Finanza was able to reconstruct the usury mechanism thanks to the testimony of a building contractor who, during the inspection, reported having seen the demands for the repayment of an initial loan of several tens of thousands of euros "rise", with interest of up to 400%.

Also confirmed was the provision of loans for 115.000 euros at usurious rates to the detriment of two entrepreneurs in financial difficulty, one from Latina and one from Portici. The usury ring was reconstructed through the acquisition of the checks paid as collateral by the victims, bank checks and the examination of the deeds of sale of two properties, found to be false, whose mortgages were paid by the same loan shark.
