Vaccines, Cgil and Fp Cgil Campania: “Enough silence and promises from the region, let's open a discussion”
Naples. Chaos in vaccinations and in the registration procedure for frail patients to the ongoing vaccination campaign: the general secretaries of Cgil and Fp Cgil Campania denounced it, Nicola Ricci and Alfredo Garzi, who in a joint note stigmatize some statements made by the Regional Crisis Unit and the Order of Physicians of the province of Naples.
“The Regional Crisis Unit communicated yesterday that the procedure for adhering to the ongoing vaccination campaign for frail patients is the responsibility of primary care doctors “as per the agreement signed by the parties and also approved by the Regional Council”. In statement it is stated that general practitioners must identify among their patients, those who belong to the category of "high fragility" by registering them on the platform that starting today, Wednesday 17 March, is active to collect registrations.
Also yesterday, the president of the Order of Physicians of Naples, as well as secretary of a trade union, released a statement in which he complained that no general practitioner was able to access the platform, because they did not have an access password. A statement - Ricci and Garzi argue - that contradicts what was signed, both at national and regional level, by the trade unions of general medicine on the involvement and role that family doctors must play in the anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign. The result is that, due to a game of roles, many "fragile" patients with serious pathologies find themselves at the mercy of conflicting announcements that cause discouragement.
This chaos is yet another demonstration of an institution that does not engage in dialogue with the intermediate confederal social bodies, bearers of general interests. It is time to say enough, enough silence, like the slogan of the confederal unitary presidia in front of the headquarters of the Regional Council. Enough contradictory news regarding fragile patients, patients vaccinated with AstraZeneca waiting for announced but never implemented monitoring. Let's open - is the request of Cgil and Fp Cgil Campania - a real discussion to try to manage this delicate phase to give answers to the many citizens among announcements and press releases that only create confusion, disorientation and increasingly distance citizens from the institutions".
