“Dial vaccine day”, all dialysis patients in Nolano and Castellammare di Stabia vaccinated in just one day
Approximately one hundred elderly dialysis patients have been vaccinated with Moderna at the Nefrocenter facility in Camposano. For these "fragile" individuals, contracting COVID would be extremely risky, as, precisely because of the treatment they are undergoing, their only option would be hospitalization, as it would be extremely difficult to transport them to dialysis centers if they tested positive.
For this reason theAsl Naples 3 South together with the Campania Region they launched the “Dial vaccine Day”: in just one day all dialysis patients in the area under the jurisdiction of the health authority were vaccinated, from Nolano to Castellammare di Stabia.
The public-private partnership allowed for an organizational effort at the end of which all dialysis patients were vaccinated. There were few dropouts: in that case, the doctors drew from a reserve list of patients admitted to the hospitals of Nola and Castellammare di Stabia, who also had kidney problems.
The Dial Vaccine Day was held in two of the group's vaccination hubs at the Cepidial point in Camposano with guests the Governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, and the general director of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud, Gennaro Sosto.

“The organizational machine set up by Nefrocenter has allowed the administration of the first dose of the anti-Covid #vaccine to our patients.
Collaboration with the Campania Region, the local health authorities and public hospitals was fundamental. The facilities and highly qualified personnel allowed Nefrocenter to already be on the front lines in the first Dial Vaccine day in Campania”.
The vaccinations were carried out in ten different centres, not only in the Nola and Vesuvius areas but also in Castellammare di Stabia, Torre Annunziata and Torre del Greco, Santa Maria la Carità.
Each of these facilities managed about 100 vaccinations in one day, employing about 15 professionals including employees and doctors, nurses and public health administrators.
"In the entire ASL we have vaccinated about one hundred thousand people with at least one dose, two thirds of those over 80 and almost all of the school staff. We must continue on this path", commented the general director of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud, Gennaro Sosto.
