Vi Skin returns to thrill with “Nei Guai” (Pako Music Records/Visory Records), his new single.
Love, the glue of our very life and by extension, of music, is the central point of the song, seen and told through the eyes of someone who struggles to have confidence in himself and consequently, finds himself having to deal with those who, perceiving this insecurity, further undermine his self-esteem and balance.
The ability to love is often defined as innate, instinctive, but for the young artist from Ciociaria, loving is an art and, like all arts, starting from a personal inclination, it can be learned. A long and complex journey is needed, an intense work on oneself so that an individual can, in the act of loving, preserve, defend, protect and conserve their own integrity and individuality. Because loving does not mean annulling oneself, because to love those around us we must first - and necessarily - love who we are, including weaknesses and fears, because it is only by recognizing and accepting them that we can improve ourselves, day after day.
'Nei Guai', written and composed by Vi Skin herself, was born from a reflection, a vivid and intimate confrontation that the artist had with herself: 'How can I give something to others if I can't give anything to myself first?'. And it is precisely from this question and the subsequent introspective journey that the song came to life, with the intent of personifying, of giving a face to the fears, insecurities, doubts and self-impositions that each of us experiences during our existence, starting to 'court' them and to 'court ourselves', transforming all those shards of glass that damage our serenity into splendid and luminous fragments that enrich the mosaic of our life.
“I love sharing, I love dialogue, I love establishing contact – the artist states -, but before doing these things, I had to do the hardest thing. Love myself. Listen to myself. Know myself. I learned that we have the power to choose to feel good; I learned to draw something positive from the most bitter experiences; then, I learned to make my discomfort productive. Music has given me so much, it has always been by my side, it seemed right to give back, to give it something in return and this song, a small and precious ray of my soul, is my sign of gratitude, my homage, my thanks”.
“He who runs away for love cannot find peace in his heart,” sings Vi Skin, enveloping the listener in a delicious musical embrace, far from space and time and close only to the most intimate and profound part of each of us.
A song to reflect on and to reflect on yourself, with the gaze of someone who knows how to listen to himself, that gaze that before reaching the eyes, passes through every fiber of our being, to then mirror itself in a new image of ourselves: one in which what we are and what we want to be are equivalent, with the humility of improving ourselves every day, always taking a step forward and remaining faithful to the concept we have of life.
Biography
You Skin, pseudonym of Sofia Pelle, is an Italian singer-songwriter born in 1993. Born in Esperia (FR), in the wonderful Ciociaria, she approached music at only 7 years old, also thanks to her aunt, a pianist, who after having made her listen to the Beethoven masterpiece "Für Elise" and perceiving her niece's inclination to the instrument, suggested her parents to enroll her in a music course. Thus, Vi Skin began her artistic training: first the electronic keyboard, then singing. Her aptitude for singing was noticed by her teachers at primary school, who advised her to also take part in a singing course, a course that, however, she decided to abandon due to her shyness that made her insecure on a stage, in front of an audience. But her love for music never abandoned her and that's how, at the age of 13, she began to compose her first lyrics, also undertaking the study of piano as a self-taught, finding the right balance between passion, commitment, light-heartedness and fun. Having achieved a new awareness of herself and an artistic maturity resulting from various personal and formative experiences, in 2020 she published her first three songs - "Sei solo musica", "Do You Feel Me?" and "La chiamavano società" - and at the beginning of 2021 she signed with Pako Music Records, a sublabel of Visory Records, a dynamic and sparkling reality, always attentive to the new generation of the Italian music scene. In March of the same year, "Nei Guai" landed on all digital platforms, an intimate and profound song, which envelops the listener in a delightful musical embrace, far from space and time and close only to the most intimate and profound part of each of us. With her crystalline voice, capable of caressing the words and the soul strings of those who listen to her, Vi Skin is one of the most promising Italian singer-songwriters on the Italian music scene.
