Illegal villas demolished on the Caserta coast

Bulldozers in action in Sessa Aurunca, where demolition activities have started, ordered by the Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vertere, of a villa declared abusive by a final judgment.

The property is located in the Piedimonte di Sessa district, five hundred meters from the sea. Two days ago, two other illegal villas were demolished in the nearby municipality of Cells, always a short distance from the coast. In both situations, these are structures built for the summer season, in areas without sewage services and where there is an absolute building ban.

After the demolition, the judicial office will activate the procedure for the recovery of expenses from the owners. In a note, the Demand led by the prosecutor Maria Antonietta Troncone, states that “the demolitions send an unequivocal signal that illegal building is being fought to the end and that, above all, it is not convenient”. Since the end of 2019, about fifteen buildings declared illegal by sentence have been demolished in the Caserta area, including an entire beach resort in Mondragone.
