In Bacoli the university headquarters for studies on submerged archaeology
The University Frederick II of Naples will establish a headquarters for the study and research of submerged archaeology in bacoli, in the structure of Villa Ferretti, a property confiscated from the Camorra. In recent weeks, the partnership agreement between the University of Federico II and the municipality of Bacoli was signed. Today, work began to create the new university headquarters in the structure. The mayor of the Phlegraean city, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, announced the news.
“Work has begun to house the university headquarters of underwater archaeology at Villa Ferretti. It is a historic construction site for the city. Under the Aragonese Castle of Baia, a stone's throw from the Archaeological Museum. Overlooking the Gulf of Campi Flegrei. This site will host university courses and seminars in general, but also and above all to delve deeper into and raise awareness of the immense heritage that is preserved in the sea between Pozzuoli, Baia and Capo Miseno”. The mayor assured that access to the beach and the sea will always be guaranteed for residents, as will the green park, even during the construction works.
