A young motorcyclist lost his life in a road accident that occurred today on Via Fusaro in Bacoli.
Giuseppe Somma, 27, a resident of Bacoli, was riding his motorcycle toward Cumae when he struck a car approaching from a side street on Via Fusaro near his home. The collision was unavoidable, and despite wearing a helmet, there was nothing that could be done for the young man. Municipal police officers and Carabinieri officers from Bacoli and Pozzuoli responded. Investigators are conducting surveys and investigations to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident. There were some tense moments at the scene with the arrival of the victim's mother and several relatives. The magistrate on duty has ordered the body to be seized for an autopsy.

The car and the motorbike were also seized. In these hours the driver of the car is being questioned by the Carabinieri and will be subjected to a toxicological test. The victim was very well known in the Phlegraean centre, passionate about engines, a few months ago he had started his own business for the maintenance of boat engines.
