Garbage bags placed outside homes for collection and the awning of the 'Cicchetteria' were the targets of an 'arsonist' in Caserta: firefighters on alert for 7 hours.
It is the perverse game played during the night between Friday and Saturday in Caserta by those who love to play with fire. Shortly after midnight the firefighters of the capital intervened in via Settembrini because the awning of the 'Cicchetteria' in via Settembrini had been set on fire. The flames caused damage to the facade of the place.
Once the fire was extinguished, the initial reconstructions by the red helmets and the Carabinieri of the radiomobile unit of the Caserta company revealed its malicious nature. There were no ignition points on site. While the operations of the Caserta red helmets were underway, the alert for new fires was given in via Giotto, in piazza Vanvitelli and again in via Settembrini where waste set aside outside the homes for collection was set on fire.
Damage was reported to gates or perimeter walls where garbage bags were placed. A 'game' that lasted all night and calmed down at first light in the morning. The Caserta military is currently investigating to trace the identity of the arsonist.
