“The Municipality of Ercolano, after being extremely late in opening the vaccination center, located the premises adjacent to the nursery school, violating the rules on the safety of children, parents, workers and citizens.

Because of this unacceptable choice, the children are not carrying out external activities to avoid: potential contact with users; slalom between the cars parked in the square in front of the garden, which also obstruct escape routes in case of danger, and above all to avoid walking past the vaccine waste lying near the entrance gate.

Well yes, the waste remains there waiting to be collected – only after insistent requests from the staff.

It was then ordered that the management of the Covid center be carried out by employees and volunteers of the Civil Protection, who were not administered the vaccine and who were only provided with a simple surgical mask.

There is also no shortage of disoriented citizens who, by mistake, enter the spaces intended for the school in search of vaccination information, 'polluting' the premises sanitized for the little users.

Given the management of the vaccination center, at this point we cannot help but think that perhaps the statement made by the Mayor, just a few days ago, through the media in which he called the Unions irresponsible for having carried out a sit-in with a limited number of people, in the open air with masks, with a safe distance and with the participation of only company union leaders who were engaged in work activities for which they have always been present and above all agreed in the manner with the Police, warned by the unions themselves, was only a clumsy attempt to "use" the Covid emergency to hide from the Citizens the denial of Democracy by avoiding the discussion on the financial rebalancing plan that will sanction cuts to services to Citizens and to Workers' rights.

We are seriously concerned about the safety of children, parents, workers and citizens of Ercolano, so if there are no responses to the requests for public health protection, we will contact the competent health and judicial authorities.” Pastore, Manfredi and Russo conclude.
