The new album by Gianni Fiorellino is entitled “C'era una volta Peter Pan”, and the Neapolitan singer-songwriter will premiere it tonight at 22 pm with a live streaming on the Facebook page Gianni Fiorellino Official. An event that has been awaited for many days by thousands of fans.
From an unspecified location, the artist will perform the twelve new songs with his band, twelve photographs that tell a journey through memories, emotions, loves and precious affections. Twelve stories in which Fiorellino retraces his human and artistic existence, which rests on three fundamental pillars: love for his life partner, love for his children and blood ties represented by the figure of his father. And the entire album is dedicated to the man, who passed away suddenly in June 2020, which takes its title from the eleventh track: a heartbreaking song in which Gianni remembers his father, describing him as an eternal Peter Pan.
“The appointment with you, the last one, was scheduled, but my diary didn't want to write it down, my mind struggles to memorize the word end – we read in the elegant booklet that accompanies the CD –. I will spend my whole life talking about you, about the gold of your genuineness, about the dough you were made of, trying to learn from your story that mistakes have a cost, but any cost will always have been less than the taste that you will have certainly experienced during your journey, imagining Neverland, even if foreseeing, perhaps, your destinies, the night has never seemed dark to you”.
In addition to the heartfelt tribute to his father, the new album contains mostly love songs. Whether they are happy, clandestine, wrong or sick loves, Gianni Fiorellino investigates the many facets of this feeling, simple and complicated at the same time, which is the engine of the world. Musically very varied, it goes from rap to rock, passing through South American rhythms, Mediterranean sounds and romantic ballads, the album features guests of the caliber of Steve Ferrone (numerous his collaborations from Duran Duran to the Bee Gees, from Eric Clapton to Pino Daniele, Pat Metheny and Claudio Baglioni, just to name a few), drummer in the songs “Sto 'e casa ncopp''o Vommero” and “Un bravoattore”, and Giusy Attanasio, who sang in “Eterno ammore”. Mariano Barba, on the other hand, played the drums in all the other songs with the sole exception of “Nisciuna nuttata nun po' maie fernì”, where the drumsticks are in the hands of Fiorellino himself. The singer-songwriter, who took care of all the arrangements and artistic production, also played the bass, electric, acoustic and classical guitars. The violins, on the other hand, are entrusted to Armando Alfano, Simona Sorrentino, Sergio Carnevale, Isabella Parmigiano, Fabbiana Sirigu, Francesca Strazzullo and Giuseppe Lucania. The violas are by Luigi Tufano and Luca Grassia.

"I don't want to reveal too much, I can only say that it will be a show in all respects inspired by the great American shows - explains the singer-songwriter -. Unfortunately, the anti-Covid restrictions do not allow in-person performances, so we thought of broadcasting this live in streaming also to allow its use by those who are far from Naples and Campania. An experiment that we already implemented last November and which was very successful, we hope to repeat it tonight ".
Produced and distributed by Zeus Record, the box set of “C'era una volta Peter Pan” also contains the DVD of “Sono sempre io”, live from the Palapartenope in Naples on January 11, 2020 produced by Leone Produzioni for Zeus Record itself. From midnight onwards all the songs on the album will be available on the best digital stores, while the video clip of the new single will be released on Tuesday.
