Young Neapolitan, born in France, cannot get married because the birth certificate cannot be found. The bureaucratic nightmare of a Neapolitan couple who have had to postpone the moment of saying yes 5 times already.
Domenico and Carmela, citizens of Naples, love each other and want to get married but the bureaucracy has put a spoke in their wheels and so due to the 'mysteries' that are hidden in the registry offices, and in general in the municipal offices, they have had to postpone their wedding already 5 times.
“My fiancée Carmela and I have been trying to get married since 2019 but in vain, in fact my birth certificate was lost. Although I am an Italian citizen, I was born in France, in Aubagne, in 1983, during which time my parents were there on a trip. I am living a real bureaucratic nightmare, for years I have been going back and forth from the registry offices but each time without success, they cannot get the certificate sent from France. On my own initiative and with my own money I contacted the French registry office and had the birth certificate sent to me but I was told that it is not valid because the documentation must be sent from registry office to registry office and cannot arrive through external channels. But then what should I do? Why can't they resolve the situation? I also contacted the consulate, I appointed a legal representative to sort out this situation but everything is still at a standstill and so unclear." - explained Domenico, who together with his future wife contacted the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli and he also intervened live on the telephone with Radiazza
“They put us in contact with an employee of the Municipality of San Giovanni a Teduccio who got moving and the process was finally started. The issue should be resolved soon and Domenico and Carmela will finally be able to get married. It had become an incredible situation that once again shows how our bureaucracy can be an impediment even to the simplest and most natural things.”- declared Borrelli and radio host Gianni Simioli.
