Giovani Ance Caserta: 'Necessary green turn for cities'
"With the pandemic we have all revised our way of living in the cities we live in. Each of us has felt the need to have parks, green areas or equipped areas where we can spend time without having to move elsewhere. We need a green revolution, creating the cities of the future with infrastructures that promote sustainable mobility, useful for connecting the center with the suburbs and with places of tourist interest. In this sense, the Urban Regeneration Call, which makes significant resources available to Municipalities, is a unique opportunity for the South and for our territory". This is what the president of the Young Ance, the Association of building contractors, of the province of Caserta, Anthony Pagliuca.
The Call provides for the allocation of 1,5 billion euros until 2024 (and a total of 8,5 billion by 2034) to be allocated to the regeneration of Italian municipalities that are provincial capitals, metropolitan cities or have more than 15 thousand inhabitants. Each municipality will request a total sum for all the interventions it intends to carry out during the year. The amount may be a maximum of 5 million euros for municipalities with 15 thousand to 50 thousand inhabitants, 10 million for municipalities with 50 thousand to 100 thousand inhabitants and 20 million euros for provincial capitals, metropolitan cities and municipalities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants.
To access the funding of the Call, which expires on June 4, the works must concern the renovation of buildings with public interest purposes, investments in sustainable mobility and the improvement of the quality of urban decor, with particular attention to the renovation of public structures intended for the promotion of cultural, social, educational, didactic and sports activities.
Pagliuca then made a reference to the Recovery Plan, seen as an unmissable opportunity also for the valorization of young people: "The projects linked to the Recovery Fund, together with the initiatives for the South announced by Minister Carfagna and Minister Brunetta - continued the president of Giovani Ance Caserta - will be fundamental to impress that increasingly urgent generational change, especially in public administration. We must avoid the so-called brain drain of our best young people, who go to express their qualities elsewhere, impoverishing our land. To avoid all this, I believe it is very important to strengthen the collaboration with the Vanvitelli University, focusing on research and training".
