“Giovanni Capurro. The legacy, the anthology”, a documentary film produced by the Giano Bifronte association
The Giano Bifronte association has involved experts, musicians, performers, DJs, and enthusiasts of Capurro's language and poetics to create the extraordinary document "Giovanni Capurro. The legacy, the anthology", which will be broadcast in preview in a Facebook live on the association's channels on Friday 23 April at 20.30:XNUMX pm. Then, the work will begin its screening tour at Italian and European thematic festivals.
«Having completed this project makes us proud – declares Paolo Nappi ofJanus Bifrons Association –, because we want to give the new generations a precious and rare treasure such as that of Capurro. A crystalline author and poet. I believe it is essential that the younger ones are aware of the creative roots that become our contemporary culture».
Giovanni Capurro is the essence of the Neapolitan cultural heritage. Poetry, song, stories, novellas. It is in his way of understanding life, with lightness, without ever being dragged into the abyss by his own miseries. Almost an introspective vademecum, that of the histrionic and brilliant poet, author - among other compositions - of the very famous 'O sole mio, and of Lilì Kangy - testimony of a poor but proud Naples - or of the metropolitan portrait Totonno 'e Quagliarella. Naturally there are dozens of memorable songs signed by him that an infinite host of singers have interpreted in over a century of shows, albums, recitals. With his verses, Capurro captures and illuminates continuous photographs of the Naples of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, starting precisely from urban suggestions that over time have also inspired his artistic "godson", Raffaele Viviani. It is from these intuitions that during 2020, the year of the centenary of his death, the Giano Bifronte association created a documentary film entitled "Giovanni Capurro. The legacy, the anthology", directed by Fabiana Fazio and produced with the support of the Campania Region.
The authorial study was done by scholars Ciro Daniele and Antonio Raspaolo, collecting memorabilia of the artist both thanks to private archives and courtesy of the Bideri Foundation. Numerous, just as many, are the artistic contributions filmed ad hoc: the trio Suonno d'Ajere performed the songs Ammore che gira and 'A vongola. The writer and performer Gianni Valentino recited the poems Sfratto 'e casa and Scunferenza. Luigi Scialdone performed the iconic 'O sole mio with his mandolin.
In the documentary film “Giovanni Capurro. The legacy, the anthology” there is also the dj-producer Uncino who created a mashup, taken from the Neapolitan Classic Beat Making project, an immersion in the beat and groove of Partenope, whose source oscillates from the nineteenth century to the present day.

Neapolitan Classic Beat Making is another project that moves in the same direction and with the same intentions as the docufilm dedicated to Capurro: "To make the younger generations listen to those masterpieces of Neapolitan music that, in an era of ferocious streaming, unaware consumption through platforms, blind use of cultural heritage, causes so many pearls composed in two centuries of songs to slip into oblivion", as explained by Paolo Nappi, who, again with the Giano Bifronte association, has sifted through the urban roster of the gulf until he hired an all-star team, in collaboration with Ammontone Production.
On the Sponda Sud label, “Neapolitan Classic Beat Making” arrives on all platforms, an anthology that includes “'O mese de' rrose” by Bonavolontà/Manlio elaborated by BOP and “Voce 'e notte” by Nicolardi/De Curtis treated by Tonico 70. In the middle, “Marenarella” appears in a version proposed by D-Ross, “Acquaiola 'e Margellina” reworked by OLuWong, “'A sirena” by Dj Uncino, “Lusingame” by dj producer Rossella Essence ” and “'O sole mio” reinterpreted by Speaker Cenzou, an original song by Capurro-Di Capua. A whirlwind and sparkling full immersion in the classic Neapolitan song, which can and must sound contemporary.

Serie A, the documentary on the 2024/25 championship is available from today
A championship lived with bated breath, decided only in the last ninety minutes, like a car race resolved at a photo finish. It is from this image that “The Great Race – Photo Finish Scudetto”, the official documentary film of the Lega Serie A dedicated to the 2024/25 season, one of the most spectacular and hard-fought in recent years, won by Antonio Conte's Napoli.
An original production by the League itself, entirely made at the IBC in Lissone, which is now available for free on YouTube and soon also on DAZN, as well as for international distribution. The documentary tells the incredible Scudetto race with an innovative and engaging language, using the metaphor of a kart race to express tension, speed and unexpected events. Every point becomes an overtaking, every mistake a missed opportunity, every curve a turning point that can change everything.
