Boss Domenico Belforte in 41 bis has Covid, trial in the Court of Appeal skips
It's slipped the hearing in the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Naples set to discuss the request presented by the lawyer Nicola Musone for the recalculation of the prison sentence against Domenico Belfry, historic clan leader of Marcianise. The hearing was postponed to May because the defendant, held in 41 bis (hard prison) in the Cuneo detention facility, contracted Covid-19.
Belforte, 63, has been in prison continuously for 22 years and, according to the judges' predictions, should remain there until 2031. He is also facing another 30-year sentence received in the first instance for the murder of Angela Gentile, killed for having had a relationship with him. The new hearing is scheduled for next week.
