Few words but very harsh and full of pain those of Tania Sorrentino wife of Maurizio Cerrato the 61 year old from Torre Annunziata killed two days ago for defending his daughter Maria Adriana. In jail ended up Giorgio Scaramella 51 years old, Domenico Scaramella 51 years old, Antonio Venditto, 26 years old, Antonio Cirillo 33 years old. The sister of one of those arrested is under investigation.

The 4 arrested are accused of conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated by premeditation and futile motives. The arrest warrant, issued by the Torre Annunziata prosecutor's office, was executed during the night by the Carabinieri of the operational section of the Oplontina company. The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri and coordinated by the prosecutor's office, have shed light on what happened on the evening of April 19. A few hours before the murder, Maurizio Cerrato's daughter had parked her car in a space that had been arbitrarily occupied with a chair by the family of one of the four men arrested.

When she returned from work, the girl, noticing that a tire on her car had been punctured in retaliation, had put the chair she had moved shortly before on the roof of the family's car that was actually using that parking space. Maurizio Cerrato had joined his daughter to replace the punctured tire but, according to the reconstruction of the prosecution, he was immediately attacked, first verbally and then physically. The 61-year-old was violently hit in the face with the car jack and, to defend himself, he in turn hit his attacker, breaking his glasses. After the fight, he even offered to buy new glasses for the man who had attacked him with the jack. But this was not enough to stop the violence. Cerrato's killers returned to the scene of the crime. There were four of them: Maurizio's attacker, his brother, a family member and a fourth man. Cerrato was "immediately attacked and beaten violently and repeatedly," according to a statement issued by Torre Annunziata prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso. One of the four then stabbed the 61-year-old in the chest, while the other three men held him down.
During the investigations, it was necessary to record, "on the one hand, - explains the prosecutor of Torre Annunziata, Nunzio Fragliasso in a note - the absolute lack of collaboration on the part of the people present at the event and who had witnessed the murder and, on the other, some conduct of contamination of evidence, such as the concealment of the murder weapon, the preparation of a fictitious alibi by one of the arrested and the attempt to wash, immediately after the fact, the clothes worn by another of the arrested, found already in the washing machine of his home shortly after the fact".
