Naples, contraband cigarettes stored in apartment confiscated from Contini clan
An apartment confiscated from organized crime, to be precise from the clan Contini, had become the storage place for half a ton of contraband cigarettesThe 'blondes' were found and seized last Saturday by officers from the Vicaria-Mercato police station in Naples, in via Martiri d'Otranto, during a check in the apartment of a man under house arrest for drug dealing; these premises were also confiscated.
Inside the uninhabited apartment nearby used as a warehouse for illegal foreign tobacco products, 425,400 kilograms of cigarettes were found in packages without the State Monopoly label. The apartment was confiscated in 2015 from Maurizio Cella, believed to be adjacent to the gang, along with seven other homes, a car and seven bank accounts, with a total value of approximately 1,5 million euros. Cella was definitively convicted of drug trafficking and dealing. He and his family were considered indigent by the tax authorities.
The controlled pusher was found in possession of narcotics and for this reason arrested. This morning, after a trial celebrated with the direct rite, he was sentenced to one year and two months in prison and locked up in the prison of Poggioreale.
