Carabinieri checks in the eastern area of Naples: 4 people reported and over half a ton of waste saved from illegal disposal.
The fight against environmental crimes is the key theme of the extraordinary territorial control service carried out by the Carabinieri of the Poggioreale Company in the eastern area of the city, on the orders of the Provincial Command of Naples.
Thanks to the support of the Pontecagnano Helicopter Unit, the Naples Forestry Group and the Campania Regiment, 47 people were identified and 37 special vehicles, intended for the transport of goods or waste, were checked.
AN ILLEGAL CAR WASH DISCOVERED IN BARRA, AND A SCRAP BUSINESS IN PONTICELLI
A 52-year-old woman from Barra, owner of a completely illegal car wash, was reported. The business was closed and the premises seized. The same fate for a 41-year-old from San Giorgio A Cremano, manager of a second car wash in Via Mastellone. This one was also illegal and without any authorization. Instead, a 55-year-old from Ponticelli, already known to the police, will have to answer for illegal waste management: owner of a business selling scrap and metals, he stored special waste in a warehouse in Via Mastellone without any criteria or authorization.

During the service, the military checked a 34-year-old Roma man on board a van without insurance. In the cargo area there was over half a ton of ferrous waste destined for illegal disposal. The man was reported, the van was seized and the waste was handed over to a company specializing in disposal. The checks will continue in the coming days.

A joint operation by the Carabinieri and the Labor Inspectorate led to the seizure of a car wash in San Nicola La Strada, on Viale Carlo III.
