Naples, Antignano market opens with stalls without goods

Stalls set up in Naples at the market in via De Bustis, the part of the market vomerese of Antignano dedicated not to food but to the sale of clothes, shoes and accessories. The market traders have organised the protest against a closure that for them is now becoming unsustainable: "We are 197 exhibitors - explains one of the market traders - this means that hundreds of families, also calculating the induced, live from this market. We are stable exhibitors, not itinerant, with this space closed there is no more income for us and our savings are running out".

The vendors complain that the compensations arrived late and are still very low, they cannot make up for the long stop in sales. For this reason today they set up all the stalls and umbrellas without putting the goods on display. Some also displayed the goods but blocked the stall with red and white tape. Many regular customers who looked at the market, some thought it had reopened, then stopped to talk to the vendors asking the reasons for the protest and hoping that the market can reopen soon. The non-food markets have now been closed for a month.
