RM, a 14-year-old, and NM, a 15-year-old son of a well-known member of the Contini clan, both residents of the Case Nuove area, reported being approached by someone who wanted to rob them and, when they attempted to fight back, being shot. They went to the Pellegrini Hospital in Naples to have their gunshot wounds treated. Doctors notified the police of the Stella company who are now conducting the investigation. The wounds were considered curable in 15 and 12 days. The two boys told the military that they were victims of an attempted robbery in the Vergini area. Their version, although not completely excluded, is not the only possible line of investigation. One of the two injured boys is the son of a prominent man in the group linked to the boss Nicola Rullo, known as o' nfamone, a leading member of the Contini clan. The other is the relative of a criminal from the same geographical area.

The Carabinieri found neither bullet casings nor traces of blood at the alleged location of the shooting indicated by the two young men. It seems clear that the shooting took place elsewhere and at this point the versions of the failed robbery are not even believed. Investigators are now trying to understand what the two minors who said they wanted to "get some air" but who were nevertheless fined for violating the anti-contagion rules were doing on the street at curfew time.
