He became the symbol of the protest of crosses today in Naples. Vincenzo Staiano, owner of the pizzeria “O' Zi Aniello” in Lettere knelt down, prayed, made the sign of the cross and then, spreading his arms, thanked the photojournalists who were filming him. They call him “the Pope's pizza chef” because on the occasion of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy he was chosen by Pope Francis to prepare pizzas at the Vatican soup kitchen. “We have been left alone, it's not possible, we have been in these conditions for a year, they have to invent something,” he said, trying to make people understand the discomfort that many like him are experiencing.

And then he added almost resignedly: "We must trust only in the Lord to enlighten them and make them understand the difficulties in which we live. Not only moral, but also economic, it is a tragedy for the costs we are bearing. We do not want money but only work"
