Pediatricians in the field to vaccinate parents and caregivers
"The vaccinations in our studies and in the hubs created by the Health Authorities will allow us to make a significant step forward in the vaccination campaign for Covid, but also a radical change in the application of the National Vaccination Prevention Plan". Antonio D'Avino, national vice president of the Italian Federation of Pediatricians (FIMP), comments with satisfaction on the agreement that the category of Free Choice Pediatricians is preparing to sign with the Campania Region, in the wake of the protocol already signed in Rome with the Ministry of Health. An integrative agreement that will simplify the lives of thousands of families in Campania.
"The category of Family Pediatricians responds once again with enthusiasm to the requests of the Government and the Conference of the Regions, guaranteeing its support for the COVID-19 vaccination campaign that will soon involve tens of thousands of citizens of Campania. The additional, and truly innovative, aspect of this agreement - underlines D'Avino - is in the opening of our professional offices to the administration of all vaccines provided for by the National Vaccination Prevention Plan".
This means that the vaccination of caregivers and parents of fragile children against COVID-19 will be accompanied by the possibility of increasing all other vaccination coverage, for which those same parents would have had to travel to the ASL vaccination centers. The regional agreement will therefore make life much easier for these families, reducing travel (and consequently the opportunities for contagion) and giving a strong acceleration to the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, creating a safety bubble around immunosuppressed children or those at risk for chronic diseases.
“Freelance pediatricians - concludes Giannamaria Vallefuoco, regional secretary of FIMP - will administer the anti-Covid vaccines to children as soon as they are available, after approval by the competent authorities, taking care of that segment of the population that, if not protected, could constitute a potential reservoir of the virus”.
Cittadinanzattiva Campania also expressed satisfaction with the agreement that will be signed in the next few days, through Secretary Latella, stating: “The agreement signed at the national level, which will be fully implemented by the Campania Region, represents a clear turning point in the vaccination campaign against Covid – 19. We are particularly satisfied with this path that involves pediatricians, who have always been on the front line not only in the care of the youngest, but above all for prevention and for the health and social protection of vulnerable subjects.
The possibility of including the other vaccination coverages provided within this path will significantly limit the movement of people towards health facilities located throughout the territory, sometimes even kilometers away, and will allow greater control of the health of younger citizens. It also represents a service that goes precisely in the direction that Cittadinanzattiva has always promoted, that is, the subsidiarity of services and attention to the real health needs of citizens".
