"I'm not a table thrower. The only thing I intend to launch is a massive vaccination campaign for tourism workers."

Andrea Reale, mayor of Minors, who ended up at the center of controversy for a video depicting his reaction yesterday to a protest picnic of a local delegation of commercial entrepreneurs, entrusts his considerations to a video message. "I intervened, together with the police, for what at first seemed to be a failure to comply with the anti-Covid rules - he explains - then it turned out to be a protest aimed at reopening commercial activities. As mayor and as an entrepreneur, I would have gladly given the authorization, but it is the method that I condemn".

“I came across as a table thrower,” he adds, referring to some frames of the images posted on social media that went viral, “for goodness sake! The only thing I’m launching as a conference of mayors of the Amalfi coast is a massive vaccination campaign for tourism operators. Our motto is to reopen forever. The gentlemen who protested and we want the same thing. It’s the method that is diametrically opposed. We owe it to the citizens who respect the rules and to those who are on the front lines fighting Covid.”

In Minori, a town of 2.600 inhabitants not far from Amalfi, yesterday a group of people took tables and chairs and started eating on the seafront. Reale, with some members of the police force, without waiting for the arrival of patrols, took the tables and pushed them away, putting them back in their place. Protesting were the restaurateurs of #ioapro who, for months, have been asking for the reopening of their premises for both lunch and dinner, who for days have opened their premises.

Amalfi, the visual identity of the 70th Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics is revealed

by Federica Annunziata April 16, 2025 - 16:41 16:41

A single boat, four rowers, four symbols: Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice. The image chosen to represent the 70th edition of the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics is a manifesto of cohesion and power. The sketch – signed by the graphic studio Lettera7 – celebrates the effort of the race and, together, the strength of the union between the cities that were rivals on the sea and that today, instead, share a common history to honor and pass on.

The rowing race, scheduled Sunday May 18 in the stretch of water between Capo di Vettica and the Amalfi bay, will be the culmination of a series of cultural and sporting events that, like every year, embrace the entire peninsula. It will be the eighteenth time that Amalfi hosts the event, born in 1955 to celebrate the glories of Italian seafaring.
