After the release of 'When I heard', an environmentalist song with an electro-pop edge, he returns Rosanna Salty with a new single that mixes classic blues with modern electronics: 'Blues del giorno dopo'
“It's a 6/8 blues enriched by synthesizers, electronic drums and orchestral sections that give the piece a more contemporary feel. The song was born from a very simple chord progression played on the piano. During the arrangement phase we decided, with BiancoSporcoProduzioni, to 'dirty' this blues a bit, using electronic sounds for the rhythms and inserting symphonic elements”.
Released by Aventino Music, 'Blues del giorno dopo' is a song that talks about violence, and condemns the concept of love and sex in our time:
“The song is an open denunciation of gender violence and psychological abuse (and not only) perpetrated against the weakest categories, a topic that is much discussed today. Technological progress makes us believe we are immortal gods, gives us the illusion of being able to possess everything, transforms us into greedy and insatiable consumers of things, objects, people. And we take everything, even what is not ours. The relationship we establish with objects is the same that we establish with people; when people have exhausted their function, or lost their effectiveness, they are replaced with others, as you do with an object; once broken, it cannot be fixed: it is changed, it is thrown away. Thus, the protagonist of the song “opened her legs too little” in a conscious and aware opposition to the “cold trade of flesh”, the only modern relationship methodology. Consuming bodies for one's own personal pleasure and then “throwing away” the person who, at that point, has exhausted his or her function. Her opening her legs too little hides a much bigger wound."
Inspired by the lyrics of Fabrizio De André, Rosanna Salati tells a story of personal growth and regret for lost time.
“For the writing of the text I was inspired by some songs by Fabrizio de André such as 'Amore che vieni, amore che vai' and 'Via del Campo', in which the verses of the stanzas carry forward a story through images. 'Blues del giorno dopo' tells of a woman who 'sat on a stone and sang Come Back Home'; but her song is not addressed to the person she loves, but rather to that most naive and pure part of herself that she lost while growing up. Each of us is forced to kill the child inside us, it is the price to pay to reach maturity; however, once we have reached this maturity, we would like, instead, to go back to when we were carefree and happy, to regain our lost identity”.
The cover was created by Simone Nocera:
“Simone did a beautiful job, in my opinion. He managed to create a strong, impactful image that fully summarizes the concept of purity, loss, memory.”
