Fairy tales are true. They are a general explanation of life, Italo Calvino said, in “Senzapaura” fairy tales are more, they live among us, the protagonists of our grandparents’ stories or those read at school, less famous than their foreign cousins, hide incognito in our cities.

“Senzapaura” is a reinterpretation and at the same time a parody of that Italian fairytale imagery that is perhaps less known but very alive and interesting. A rare opportunity to discover or rediscover classic characters. The graphic novel humorously proposes the great adventure with a capital 'A' among wizards, ogres and fairies, so we will see 'Giovannin Senza Paura' watching over the discretion of that world, “Uncle Wolf” acting as an innkeeper, “the little girl sold with the pears” helping in the kitchens. In a unique, unpublished story, set in the present day and suitable for an audience of all ages where we will also meet new characters like Rita, the pretty, rebellious and courageous girl who helps fairy tales hide from the eyes of earthlings like her. Fantasy and reality mix in a narration that follows the alternating events of that world hidden from sight yet present in our everyday reality. Perhaps in the end the adventure is not very far from us.

SYNOPSIS

Naples, present day. Giovannin Senzapaura and Rita eliminate a rebel witch, interrogated by the police Rita manages to get them out of trouble with difficulty. The girl does not see the right companion for such a delicate role. To keep the rebel fairy tales under control, without any mortal noticing, cunning is needed more than brute force, much better Masino tells him the young woman. Masino in another place is attacked and killed by a hooded figure that we do not know.
Rita is one of the few humans to know about the existence of fairy tales and to help them coexist incognito among us. The next day the fairy tale inn is in turmoil due to Masino's absence, while some show strange symptoms. There is an epidemic underway and a magician prophesies the use of the ogre's feathers as a cure. With Masino still missing, Rita and Senzapaura form an unlikely team with which to go in search of the miraculous feathers, thus involving Crik and Crok, Canarino and Marcello, all fairy tale characters with powers useful for the mission.
