The Provincial Command always pays the utmost attention Carabinieri of Naples reserves to combat illicit arms trafficking. Significant data emerges from the balance sheet drawn up in the first quarter of 2021 (ref. 1 January - 14 March 2021): 150 weapons seized in the Neapolitan territory and in the municipalities of the province, 44 are firearms and 106 are white. 1729 ammunition of various calibers stolen from crime. The result is the fruit of a widespread action of territorial control carried out daily by the 100 Carabinieri stations in every neighborhood of Naples and in every city of the province of Naples. Particular attention was paid to the neighborhoods of Fuorigrotta and Ponticelli, recently the scene of injuries and murders.

A significant portion of the confiscated bladed weapons were found in Naples. Daggers, switchblades and butterfly knives were often found in the possession of very young people caught on the street. The excuse was always the same: "it's to defend myself!".
The sad record for firearms – the reference remains the last quarter – belongs to the area of ​​Castello di Cisterna (16 weapons and 752 rounds of ammunition), followed by that of Casoria (11 weapons and 289 bullets). The hiding places used are increasingly creative: from totems of electricity supply companies to garbage bins, from abandoned cars to burials in green areas of public passage.

All common and condominium areas, preferred because they are difficult to attribute to a specific person.
The Carabinieri will carry out ballistic tests on all the seized weapons to verify whether they have been used in acts of bloodshed or intimidation.
