Storie di Napoli launches the first fundraiser to create 50 historical plaques in Vomero

Preparing for the return of tourism and rediscovering the city's history by making the walls of Naples speak, neighborhood after neighborhood. All thanks to the support of citizens. This is the mission of the fundraiser launched by the group of young people of Storie di Napoli to create a tourist route that, in the plans, includes the installation of 50 plates historical ones that tell the whole story of the Vomero.

Starting from Monday 12 April 2021, the collection of funds needed to print and install the plaques along the streets of the city will begin, in order to learn about the events, stories and characters who lived in the neighborhood: from Alighiero Noschese, born in Via Palizzi, to the first miracle of San Gennaro, arriving at the construction of the Naples Metro inaugurated in Piazza Medaglie d'Oro.

The project is sponsored by the Municipality of Naples and the Rotaract Napoli Ovest club. It is supported by numerous local associations: Red, Scout del Vomero, “I mondi di Parthenope”, and has already obtained the first 20 memberships from private condominiums and from the Campania Museums Directorate.

Vomero is in fact a hill rich in history that needs to be rediscovered and told, to create new tourist itineraries and to relaunch the cultural image of the neighborhood.
The plates are made with texts in Italian and English, as well as QR codes linked to video guides.

The Vomero plaques are the continuation of a European project that began in 2020 in the Borgo degli Orefici. Storie di Napoli has in fact installed a path of 25 plaques within the neighborhood, inaugurated in the presence of the Mayor, the Director of the National Agency for Youth and thanks to the support of the Consorzio Antico Borgo Orefici.

The funds will all be allocated to young businesses and professionals in the area, transparently reported, encouraging the development of local employment. The first plaques are expected to be installed by the summer, thanks to the candidacies of the Vomero condominiums and the publicity of the fundraiser.

Storie di Napoli is a collective of young professionals and university students, all under-30. The group was born in 2014 on the benches of the Liceo Sannazaro: today it is the largest community of territorial historical dissemination in Italy, with 10 million readers per year and 250.000 followers on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Tiktok pages
