It was a real massacre on the Holy Saturday road. The violent impact occurred along the Casilina in the stretch between San Vittore del Lazio and San Pietro Infine. According to the first reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Cassino company road section, the accident occurred on a curve. The Mito with the three young people on board, who were returning from Cassino where they had gone to greet their school friends, collided head-on for reasons still being ascertained against the Fiata Idea driven by Claudio Amato.
The impact was very violent. When the rescuers arrived on the scene they found themselves facing the two destroyed cars. Three of the four victims were already lifeless while Carlo Romanelli, who is the son of a well-known entrepreneur in the area, died at the “Santa Scolastica” hospital in Cassino. The findings of the police will help clarify the dynamics of the accident that took the lives of three very young people and a 52-year-old man who was returning home from work.
