Marano drug dealing squares closed: one in front of the church

Marano di Napoli: Carabinieri close 2 drug dealing areas. 5 arrests. Drugs sold in front of a church and in a wine shop

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Naples, as part of an investigation coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples, have executed a precautionary custody order, of which 4 in prison and 1 under house arrest, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, against an equal number of individuals considered close to the Orlando clan seriously suspected of association aimed at illicit trafficking, dealing and possession of narcotics.

The investigation – conducted by the military of the Marano di Napoli Company – allowed to reconstruct a criminal organization dedicated to the sale of narcotics, operating in Marano di Napoli and Calvizzano. The drug “business” was carried out following mainly 2 channels: the first based on a static sale of the narcotic; the second, instead, based on a dynamic channel.

The “static” sale took place inside 2 “drug dealing squares” existing in Marano di Napoli in front of the Church of San Ludovico D'Angiò and in a wine shop managed by one of the arrested, meeting places frequented mostly by young people. The dealing also took place thanks to the help of some supporters, who had the task of warning the pushers in case of checks by the Police Forces.

Dynamic sales, on the other hand, took place through appointments agreed upon by telephone between the dealer and the buyer, making it difficult and unpredictable for the police to identify the meeting place.
